What is the difference between intensive therapy, adjunctive therapy, and hourly therapy?

Standard, hourly therapy is what most people think of when they think of therapy. You come in once a week or every other week and we work towards the goals we established.

Adjuctive therapy- means you are seeking out specialized care like EMDR or Brainspotting but want to keep seeing the talk therapist that has gotten you this far. Adjuctive care can be administered in hourly or intensives.

Intensive therapy- is where you are looking for specialized care like EMDR and want to accomplish a specific number of your goals or targets, have a set time line in mind, or want to make faster progress in you healing journey. I presently offer 3 hour and 6 hour intensives only.

  • participants are always informed of what is coming next

  • every pose is an option and every movement there is an invitation to listen to what aligns with your body.

Why would I include wellness practices like reiki and yoga with my therapy?

Trauma informed yoga and reiki can be valuable additions to trauma therapy as they are non-verbal, experiential ways to help you reconnect to your body, regulate your nervous system finding space within your parasympathetic nervous system (where you rest and digest) and helping to increase the ability to relax.

These practices are also helpful in bringing awareness to our emotions through our body and decreasing stress, building more coping skills, and facing difficult emotions.
